Parking

Where do I get residental parking permits or guest passes?
You can go to the City Clerk's Office at City Hall or at 5430 West Gale Steet to obtain permits. We have the mail-in forms at our office.
Where do I get LV2 Cubs Night Game Parking?
You can come to our office and get this parking permit. Please bring your city sticker number, license plate number, and one piece of identification with your address (examples: current bill, lease, driver's license, etc.).
When is my block scheduled for street cleaning?

Traffic

Who can I call about traffic problems and street signs?
We can help you with a wide range of issues pertaining to the traffic in the 47th Ward. If your questions is dealing with the installation of new traffic signs, missing traffic signs or other issues please call us at 773-348-8400.

Permits & Licenses

Who do I call about opening an outdoor cafe for my restaurant?
Please call our office regarding the process. We can also help you with any other questions about the public right way.

Reporting an Abandoned Auto

How do I know I know if a vehicle is abandoned?
Any vehicle that has not moved in over 7 days is considerred to be abandoned by the City of Chicago.
How do I report and abandoned vehicle?
please call our office with the following information: the make, model, color, license plates number, the exact location, how long it has been there, if there are any wheels, or if there is any damage to the auto. Please also note if the license plates and city vehicle sticker are valid or if either has expired. If there are plates and a city sticker the City will contact the owner via certified mail, which can take up to 25 days.

Rodent Sightings

I saw a rat in my alley!  Who do I call?
Please call our office with the exact location of the sighting, we will then report this to Rodent Control. If you are reporting a sighting on private property, you must be home when they are taking care of this problem.

Registering to Vote

I just moved in to the 47th Ward.  How do I register to vote at my new address?
Please visit our office at 4237 North Lincoln Avenue to register to vote. You need to bring two forms of identification here with one having your current address on it. These are a few examples of identification you can bring in:

  • Civic Membership Card
  • Credit Card
  • Driver's License
  • Employee I.D.
  • Public Aid I.D.
  • Social Security Card
  • Student I.D.
  • Union Membership Card
  • Utility Bill/ Rent Receipt

Tickets or Citations

I was issued a parking ticket or some other type of citation. I don't think I did anything wrong and/or I don't want to pay the fine. Can you help me with it?
Sorry but our office is unable to help. A legal process has been established which you must follow to contest the ticket. Please read the directions on your ticket to know what your options are. If you are contesting the ticket, make sure you follow the directions to contest it in a timely manner. For further direction, I suggest you call the Administrative Hearings Office at 312-742-4747.
