City Again Taking Action Against Mosquitoes, West Nile Virus Larviciding Catch Basins, Eliminating Standing Water
Chicago=s plan to thwart the West Nile Virus in 2006 is aggressive and prevention-oriented, City officials said today.
"While the number of West Nile-related illnesses in Chicago has been low in the last couple of years, we're keeping our guard up," stated Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) Deputy Commissioner William Paul, M.D. "We don't want to see a repeat of 2002, and we're taking aggressive steps to limit the size of the mosquito population."

Sewer Catch Base Cleaning in the 47th Ward

The City Department of Water Management in cooperation with Alderman Gene Schulter will be cleaning all of the sewer catch basins in the 47th Ward. Please be watchful for No Parking signs, so crews can access the catch basins. The work is scheduled to be completed by mid-July.
